How do I enable 5G/LTE?

Your phone is set to automatically choose the best available network, with 5G enabled by default. If your phone is not connected to a 5G network, you may be in an area where 5G is not yet available. As our network partners work to rapidly deploy this emerging technology across the country, please click here to view our LTE coverage map.

You may also be in an area with poor wireless coverage.

  • If you are indoors, try moving closer to a window or the perimeter of the building, or try going outside.
  • If changing your location does not solve your problem, try restarting your phone by turning it off and then on again.

To verify your 5G/LTE network settings, follow these steps:

  1. From the main screen, slide the screen up to display your apps.
  2. Tap the "Settings" icon.
  3. Tap "Connections."
  4. Tap "Mobile networks."
  5. Tap "Network mode." The "5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)" mode will be selected.
